Pjur Espresso is a water-based lubricant with caffeine. Initially, I thought that it was also espresso flavoured, the packaging to me looks like that’s what it would be, but its not. I think the packaging for this reason is very misleading. Unless you read the crazy-small print on the back, stating that it’s tasteless, it looks to be espresso flavoured.
Consistency wise, it’s very similar to Pjur Woman Nude, which is why I don’t have a whole lot to say. They’re very similar. I think the Espresso gets stickier quicker, so reapplying or reactivating happens a lot more, and it feels less natural. It leaves behind the same annoying sticky residue on my skin.
The main differences between the two is that the Pjur Woman Nude is more vagina friendly, whereas the Espresso is closer to just your average lube.
Pjur Espresso ingredients:
Aqua (Water), Propylene Glycol, Glycerin (Glycerol), Ethoxydiglycol, Caffeine, Hydroxypropyl Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Citric Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone.
I was dreading trying the Espresso. I didn’t ask for it to review because I’m not a coffee fan, I don’t drink hot drinks much, but when I do, it’s tea. Frankly, I find coffee kind of gross. Espresso is like, super coffee flavoured, I was expecting to absolutely hate it. I considered filming my initial reaction because I expected it to be hilarious to see. Turns out, had I read the packaging, I would have realized that it’s not actually coffee flavoured. It’s just “Powered by Caffeine”. All that dread for nothing.
The caffeine is supposed to give sensation, and help arousal. A cup of coffee for your genitals. I haven’t noticed any affect. I’ve smothered my vulva in lube and haven’t felt so much as a tingle. When I had a fan blowing on my lubed up vulva, I felt a minor tingle, but I suspect that was because of the situation.
I prefer the taste of the Pjur Espresso over the apparently tasteless Woman Nude. Woman Nude has a very strong chemically sweet taste, the Espresso is mostly tasteless, as it claims. It has a very, very slight tang to it, but that’s it. The tang does have a tendency to linger in my mouth if I don’t actively wash it out.
Pjur Espresso is an average lubricant that does its job. I don’t get any added stimulation from the caffeine in there, although more sensitive people may. It’s not the best lube, but it’s also not the worst.
I was sent this product in exchange for my honest review.
